    Civil & Environmental Engineering Department

The New Mexico Tech Student Chapter of ASCE holds several events throughout the year such as field trips to construction sites and to the semi-Annual Meetings of the NM Branch of ASCE. They also participate in outreach activities like the Annual Engineers Week Outreach (AEWO) which hosts local schoolchildren and inspires them to pursue careers in STEM. Donations to the ASCE club will aid in continuing their mission to motivate students of all ages to become civil engineers.

Civil Engineering students often select the ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition or the AISC student Steel Bridge Competition as their senior design projects. Donations may be made directly to these teams and will be used to purchase materials to construct a bridge or canoe and cover travel expenses to the competitions.

The Environmental Engineering Club is also a student chapter of RMSAWWA/RMWEA. Members of the club meet regularly for activities to enhance knowledge and experience in the field of environmental engineering, to interact with working professionals, and to volunteer in community services. Donations to the club will be used for sponsoring seminars, attending technical conferences, organizing field trips, and social networking.
