The Materials & Metallurgical Engineering department gifts fund is used to  support students (undergraduate and graduate) and to maintain equipment.

The Materials Student Club (aka Materials Engineering Society) supports the student members in their mission to promote interest in materials science and engineering.

The Bladesmithing Club promotes the art of hand forging steel knife blades. The club is more than just a hobby group - it is a full research group, producing technical papers, posters, and videos. They also do outreach, hosting events and demonstrations for college and high school students.
